Chaudhary Group implements E-waste Take Back System with BW2V as the Recycling Partner

On the eve of World Environment Day 2019, BW2V and Chaudhary Group (CG) have officially signed a MOU for the introducing the first E-waste take-back and recycling system in Nepal. From now on, consumers can dispose their E-waste at the outlets of CG and LG Lifestyle Shoppe to ensure that it is properly recycled through Blue Waste to Value (BW2V).  The MOU was signed by Mr. Nirvana Chaudhary, Managing Director of CG, and Mr. Nabin Bikash Maharjan, CEO of BW2V.

Under the E-waste take back system, consumers can choose between two schemes, depending on the size and type of E-waste,

  • Drop off system: Non-builky items can be directly dropped-off at the CG outlets. There are 8 collection points across Kathmandu: CG Digital Tangal, Kumaripati, Rabibhawan, and Nayabazar, and LG Lifestyle Shoppe Imadole, Minbhawan, Chabahil, and Jawalakhel.
  • Door-to-door system: Builky items, like refrigerator, washing machine, and television can be requested for door-to-door pickup. Discount vouchers are provided for the items under door-to-door pick-up.

CG accepts E-waste of any brands to be dropped off at their outlets.

E-waste is associated with a huge array of toxic components like mercury, lead, cadmium, polychlorinated biphenyls, etc. If the growing volume of E-waste is not managed on time, they can pose a huge risk on the environment and the health of people. Therefore, through this project, we aim to create a proper e-waste collection system, an environmentally sustainable recycling, an aware society, and most importantly, a healthy and secured future.

This can be successful only when each and every one of us become a part of the movement. So, this Environment Day, let us take a pledge to celebrate environment day every day, and make conscious effort to bring changes. The conscious effort is as easy as dropping-off your E-waste at the outlets of CG or LG Lifestyle Shoppe.

Recycle your E-waste!
