BW2V's participation on UN Habitat Day 2018
On the occasion of World Habitat Day, 2018, Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Department of Urban Development and Building Construction (DUDBC) and UN Habitat jointly organized an event moving forward with the Third United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development (Habitat III) with a theme "Municipal Solid Waste Management" in Hotel Shanker, Lazimpat. The event saw the large participation of representatives from various sectors like DUDBC, UN Habitat, MoUD, MuAN and various Municipalities, where Blue Waste to value also showed an active presence and participation. Inaugurated by the honorable Minister, Mohammad Estiyak Rai, and presentation and experience sharing from various representatives, the program especially focused on Municipal waste management especially by Kirtipur Municipality, Bhaktapur Municipality, and Waling Municipality. Representing BW2V, Nabin Bikash Maharjan also shared the organizational activities for waste management, BW2V's role to work along SDGs, and presented the works that BW2V does focusing on maximizing the value of waste through various creative activities. He elaborated his presentation stating that Waste Management is done by creating a circular economy with 5 Principles viz. reuse, reduce, recycle, rethink and recovery. This 5 principles of Waste Management is implemented with various projects undertaken by BW2V such as Commercial Waste Management, Community/ Municipal Waste Management, and Waste Specific Projects.
